Across the country, with a D.C. action at the corner of 7th and H streets in Chinatown.
Earlier this year, ILRF uncovered serious labor rights abuses in the palm oil industry. Now, Rainforest Action Network (RAN), an ILRF ally in the fight against dirty palm oil, is organizing a global day of action to spread the word about the social and environmental harms of the rapidly expanding palm oil industry. The ask is simple: write the global day of action hashtag - #InYourPalm - on the palm of your hand, or come up with your own creative display and take a picture. Tweet your picture to @RAN, or follow @RainforestActionNetwork on Instragram, and post it with the hashtag.
For those in DC, ILRF will join RAN activists in handing out fliers about the hazards of palm oil from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Gallery Place Metro Station ( 7th & H streets NW). Afterward (around 5:30), we'll head over to Busboys and Poets at 5th and K streets NW for Happy Hours for a Cause to continue spreading the word and network with fellow activists. You can find out more about the event here.
Other activities are going on around the country. Find one that you can particupate in, or develop your own creative action!
