This year, garment workers in Los Angeles are taking the Pay Up Ross Campaign to the national level! On Thursday, January 31st at 6:30pm, the LA Garment Worker Center will hold an action in New York City to demand that Barbara Rentler, the CEO of Ross Dress for Less, pay up the close to $800,000 in stolen wages owed to four Garment Worker Center members who worked in factories that produced Ross apparel.
Ross Dress for Less has been evading responsibility for the wage theft they created in the Los Angeles garment industry since the LA Garment Worker Center launched a campaign against them in 2015. Garment workers producing for Ross in LA make as low as $5 per hour with no guaranteed overtime or rest breaks. Four workers, who received judgments for a total of $789,441.74 in owed wages earned while producing Ross clothing, are demanding that Ross take responsibility for the wage theft they caused. But Ross has failed to respond to them! Please join the LA Garment Worker Center and the International Labor Rights Forum in bringing these workers' demands to Ross CEO's doorstep.
