A Briefing from California’s Port Drivers
Featuring California Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara

For too long the port truck drivers who haul containers on and off the ports for our nation have been misclassified leading to wage theft and poor conditions. Labor advocates and governmental agencies are seeking new creative ways to end the mistreatment of workers and enforce supply chain codes of conduct. Join the Teamsters and the International Labor Rights Forum for a discussion on what it means to be a misclassified port driver and what law-abiding companies are doing to improve working conditions both in the trucking industry and throughout the supply chain. Hear what successful policies are being put in place at the state and local level, and what Congress can learn from those experiences.

Organized by the Teamsters and the International Labor Rights Forum in collaboration with Congresswoman Grace Napolitano (CA-32), Congressman Bobby Scott (VA-03), Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky (IL-09), and other Congressional leaders.
